Honestly, I don't buy cookbooks. I've been following Kevin for a while now, regularly checking out fitmencook.com and his Instagram. I bought this book because I wanted to support him, as I appreciate all that he does for free via his website and social media platforms. Like everything else Kevin does, this book completely delivers. Definitely went above and beyond what I expected. Not only does it have his amazing recipes, he also gives honest advice about how to start living a healthier lifestyle, recommendations on meal prep tools to always have in the kitchen, and tips for how to successfully meal prep delicious, healthy food. And (as always) he keeps it real by giving advice for people with different priorities. Environmentally conscious? He has tips for that. On a budget? He has tips for that. Busy schedule? He has tips for that. I figured I would buy this book, skim through it, then give it to someone for Christmas. Instead, I'm keeping it and contimplating how many to buy as gifts for family and friends.
I love FitMenCook recipes but disappointed that my book is missing 20 pages. It literally jumps from page 142 to 161. I added a pic and vid to show this. I reached out to Kevin Curry via instagram but I didn't get a response. I'm sure he's busy but I'd love a resolution. Only giving 3 stars because I have an incomplete book.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to FINALLY have this book in my hands. My husband and I have been following Kevin for years and it almost feels like he’s one of our friends who’s doing big things. (He’s just that friendly in his posts) Although we don’t actually know him, we can still say his recipes have been delicious since the day we found his IG and his positivity and kindness are really genuine. The tips for the recipes are so helpful and the food is just freaking delicious. Thanks to Kevin for such a tasty and healthy cookbook.
i copyedited this book! In all my years of copyediting and proofreading, this is the first cookbook I've worked on that I've bought a copy of, so you know I like it! The author's take on fitness and overall physical and mental health is great, and his smile and positive attitude are infectious. The recipes are delicious, nutritious, and easy to cook and offer a lot of variations to change things up. They are the perfect size to meal prep for one or two people and reheat well. I highly recommend this book! :-DOh yes, and the photos are beautiful!
I've been looking forward to this book since it was announced over a year ago. Anyone who follows Kevin on social media and has tried his recipes know they are inexpensive and tasty alternatives to the traditional chicken, broccoli, and rice so many health conscious people consistently make. The book is great quality - informative, easy to follow, and has beautiful pictures of almost every dish. Inside you will find 100 recipes that look delicious! I was worried this would just be the app in book format and it's not -- lots of new material here! A perfect complement to the Fit Men Cook app!
I have been watching Kevin Curry on his YouTube channel, FitMenCook, for a few years now. I use his app as well. I love his creativity and thoroughness when it comes to recipes and macros. That definitely translates to his first in-print cookbook.Here's what I like:- Great photos (of course);- all the macros for the recipes are listed and easy to read/understand;- recipes are simple, easy to follow, and won't take 40 minutes of prep to do;- his philosophy of colorful, flavorful, healthy food definitely shines through;- the introductory chapter is not overwhelming and is really great for someone just starting to learn to cook healthier for themselves; and,- he thoughtfully takes into account many different eating preferences/needs and marks all of his recipes accordingly.I'm really happy this book is finally out and have shared it with all of my coworkers. I was able to flip through the book and show them recipes I had made of his before (Jambalaya, Shepherd's Pie, Lasagna) and have adapted for my own needs. They were all very impressed as well.The only real negative is really that you can't hear his cheesy "dad jokes" and the subsequent crack up with the printed book, but then there's always the YouTube channel for that... :) And maybe future prints could include a spiral bound, to make it easier to have in the kitchen while cooking?Great purchase and highly recommended as a gift for people that think eating healthy is hard and unappetizing.

I’ve enjoyed all of his content - starting with his videos, to his app (which is excellent by the way), and now this cookbook.As soon as I heard about this book I immediately preordered it because I knew that Kevin wouldn’t let me down and would produce something spectacular as always. This is a beautifully created hardback book with gorgeous full-color photography that you can be proud to set out on your coffee table; and not tucked away inside a kitchen cabinet never to be seen. This book details Kevin’s journey and how he developed his approach to achieving his health and wellness goals. He helps you, the reader, to apply his hard-earned knowledge to your life and benefit from his experience.I really enjoyed how the book has a very conversational tone and you feel that Kevin is in the room speaking directly to you. His personality and infectious positivity has (and will continue to do so) taken him far. The recipes themselves are also achievable, in that you don’t have to have a culinary background in order to prepare them. Just a few simple kitchen tools and willingness to try something new that will ultimately improve your life.So, I can definitely recommend that you pick up a copy of this book. It is packed with so many delicious recipes you can’t wait to start getting busy in the kitchen right away. Eating healthy has never tasted to good! Thanks Kevin, keep up the great work!
