Yup. Make sure you get the current version. Learning from a ten-year old version of this that you buy in the thrift store is a bad idea - I learned the hard way. Things change FAST. Learning that there are different resume styles including ones that can make career changes and gaps in employment a non-issue was highly beneficial for me.
This book taught me to target my resume and hone to a clear and concise document. There are a ton of examples to look at and use for ideas.
Interesting reading and up to date suggestions make this a book worth it's cost.
Has all the words a person needs to write a resume aimed at all different trades.
High accolades to Laura de Carlo for this "gold mine" reference book, Resumes for Dummies! After purchasing and applying the knowledge, examples, etc. therein, although time consuming, I completed and posted my on-target resume on Career Builder, a well-known job board in the U.S., to test its effectiveness. Well, since then, both recruiters and HR specialists have been contacting and wanting to meet with me to discuss job opportunities. Just yesterday (November 30), for example, I was contacted by seven (7) recruiters (and most of them HR specialists) from seven different companies or agencies with fantastic job opportunities. The results are astounding, and I am so excited!!! Knowing that I can secure interviews--"get in the door"--I am confident that I can secure a job that interest me after I return to the U.S.
